Proud Callan men celebrates Kilkenny county final triumph

John Lockes diehard and loyal supporter John Donovan was on cloud nine on Saturday as his beloved club were crowned Kilkenny Vehicle Centre Minor B champions, beating Danesfort after extra-time.

John lives across the road from UPMC Nowlan Park and even though he never got the chance to line out in the saffron and blue, those colours have always flown through John's veins.

He has been part of the great John Lockes journey for nearly fifty years. John was there when the Lockes made the breakthrough by winning the 1984 Minor championship with lads such as Johns Cousin Jim Donovan, the Comerford brothers Paddy and Philly, the Holdens Michael and John, Bosco Bryan, James Quigley, Liam Egan, Mickey Barry as well as the O’Dwyer Brothers Kieran and Aidan.
