Kilkenny school bids fond farewell to principal after 26 years

A great crowd filled the parish church on Friday evening to celebrate the retirement of John Curran, principal of St Kieran’s NS for the past 26 years.

Celebrant of the Mass was Fr Ollie Maher, PP, while the beautiful singing of the schoolchildren, led by Miss Leahy, greatly enhanced the celebration, with music by Eddie Cullinane, Noirin Ryan and Breda Campion. The communion reflection was sung by John’s daughters Sarah and Ella.

John was thanked for his dedication to the pupils of the school over his 26 years, while presentations were made by the Parents Council, the Board of Management and the Parish. John is wished a long and happy retirement.
