Kilkenny gardaí seek to tackle road rage issue following a number of local incidents

An Garda Síochana in Kilkenny have taken to social media to warn local drivers about their behaviour on the road after receiving a number of complaints. 

"Unfortunately we receive a number of complaints periodically from people who have been intimidated by other road users. The victim at times might say that they'd committed an infraction, most likely by accident before suffering shouts of abuse and threats," a garda spokesperson said.

"Never acceptable. People make mistakes and it is not the job of other motorists to deal out retribution," the post continued.

"Road Rage may result in the perpetrator being prosecuted for Road Traffic offences, Criminal Damage, Public Order and Assaults. If you really need to take out frustration maybe go for a run, chop some firewood or do anything productive."
