Attendees at the SEVN networking event at the Watergate Theatre
The Watergate Theatre was host to venues and artists of various disciplines earlier this month for the first South East Venue Network, in-person gathering.
The South East Venue Network (SEVN) was formed in 2019 and includes venues based in the South-East. The network provides an informal support network for strengthening arts centre/venue operations and programme development that aims to further support artists and programme delivery in South East Ireland. The evening commenced with refreshments and an opportunity to network.
The group then gathered on the Watergate stage where each of the south-east venue directors introduced themselves, spoke about their venues and how they support artists both individually and collectively, as a member of the South East Venue Network. This was followed by a beautiful performance by SEVN’s bursary recipient, violist Beth McNinch.
Beth and fellow SEVN’S bursary recipient Palestinian circus artist Fadi Zmorrod gave insights into how receiving the bursary has impacted their lives and careers. The evening finished with a Q and;A session and open discussion between participants.
This was the first of many future SEVN’s events.
