The annual Kilkenny International Chess Masters is set to take place once again, from Friday, November 22, until Sunday, November 24.
Attracting chess grandmasters from around the world, The Kilkenny Masters is the longest-running tournament in Irish chess history, and the flagship event of the Kilkenny Chess Congress, offering a total prize fund of €4,800.
It was founded to offer local players a rare opportunity to compete against some of the world’s finest chess talent.
The event, which is set to take place at both The Ormonde Hotel, and The Club House Hotel, has welcomed more than 100 internationally recognised chess players since it was established 31 years ago.
This year’s event will see over 200 chess players competing across the weekend.
