All-Ireland under-20 winning captain Padraic Moylan
Former Dicksboro U21 and Kilkenny U20 captain, Padraic Moylan has hailed the 'Boro's 'player driven' approach at U21 level in recent years and has admitted it's difficult not being involved in the grade this year.
The 'Boro centre-back has captained his club and county to U21 championship and U20 All-Ireland honours respectively, but now aged 22, his focus turns purely to adult hurling with his role limited to hurley carrier for Sunday's JJ Kavanagh & Sons U21A County Final.
"It's a great competition and there's something about the U21 grade where it's really player driven as far as I can see with the 'Boro anyway," Moylan said as part of a new interview series on the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast.
"We have a great manager in there the last two years Darren O'Connor and he really does respect the player's opinion and how the players are feeling and what they think," he added.
"It's bitter not playing with the lads but it's great seeing them leading and hopefully we'll get a bit of glory tomorrow (Sunday)."
