Kilkenny gardaí have fined a local driver after parking they parked untaxed car illegally on High Street in Kilkenny City.
"So some advice needed! If I have a car with no tax and bald tyres? Where would you think the best place for me to park it would be? Oh I know! Directly blocking the footpath in High Street and blocking the entrance to a lane way," a post to the An Garda Síochana Facebook page read.

"Who'd ever notice it there? Well unfortunately for this driver one of our community Policing team spotted it. Fines for illegal parking, bald tyres and no tax issued.
"Might have been cheaper to go to one of the many city car parks!," the post concluded.
