Kilkenny election candidate concedes defeat in North Tipperary constituency

A Kilkenny candidate in the North-Tipperary constituency has claimed he will 'not give up in fighting for our families, workers & communities in Kilkenny' despite not securing a Dáil seat.

"Unfortunately I have been eliminated from the race," Sinn Fein's Evan Barry said.

"A big thank you to my campaign manager Dermot and all the Sinn Féin activists who helped me along the way. Not to mention my long suffering family and girlfriend.

"Thank you to every single person who voted for myself in Tipperary North and northwest Kilkenny and in our message of change," he continued.

"Although not elected today, I will not give up in fighting for our families, workers & communities in Kilkenny," he concluded.
