A fight for a Sinn Fein seat in on the cards in the Carlow-Kilkenny constituency with candidates Áine Gladney Knox and Natasha Newsome Drennan on 7,535 and 6,755 votes respectively in fourth and sixth respectively.
Fine Gael's Catherine O'Callaghan is sandwiched in between and is set to fight it out to the bitter end on 7,405 votes.
It's being predicted by political experts that at least one Sinn Fein seat will be won in the constituency.
Meanwhile, sitting Kilkenny TD John McGuinness is now within touching distance of reaching the quota to be elected after a flurry of transfers from eliminated Green Party TD Malcom Noonan.
