Kilkenny senior hurler Cian Kenny
Kilkenny midfielder, Cian Kenny, has told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast James Stephens' relegation from the top flight will be motivation for him at club and inter-county level in 2025.
The Village were relegated from senior hurling for the first time in 69 years last October but Kenny, who received a PWC All-Star nominee last month, is hoping the scars of that disappointment will be a driver for club and county in the new year.

"It's kind of motivation, especially how we ended up with the Village this year, personally it's always going to be in the back of my head being relegated so it's motivation for me," he said at the launch of the Kilkenny GAA Yearbook.
"I suppose if you're not in an inter-county set up and you have those months where you can put your shoulder to the wheel and become a different animal for the club scene but for me it's certainly motivation to be the best I can be for Kilkenny and hopefully carry that momentum into the club for the intermediate season ahead," Kenny added.
