As is the annual tradition, Thomastown Garda Station hosted a very enjoyable Christmas get together for retired members who served in the station.
"A huge thank you goes to the members and staff who organised the station kitchen for the morning and were on hand throughout, tea pot at the ready," a post to the An Garda Síochana Kilkenny Facebook page read.
"Superintendent O Meara, once a young guard in Thomastown district himself, addressed the group, wishing all a very happy Christmas and many more years of happy retirement," the post added.
