Kilkenny barracks bids fond farewell to much loved member of Defence Forces

Last week, the 3rd Infantry Batallion at James Stephens Barracks said farewell to Fr Dan McCarthy, who is retiring from the Defence Forces after nearly 17 years of distinguished service.

The day was marked with a parade in the barracks, where Fr Dan McCarthy received his service medal, and the troops had an opportunity to wish him all the best.

"A sincere thank you to Fr Dan for all his ministry both at home and overseas. He will be missed by all in the 3 Inf Bn," a spokesperson for the barracks said.
