Former Kilkenny senior hurling manager Brian Cody has admitted he knew he was going to stand down as county boss prior to the Cats' All-Ireland Hurling Final loss to Limerick in 2023.

"It wasn't a knee jerk reaction after a match, I knew at the time (I was going to stand down)," Cody commented, adding, "I had my mind made up."
