Kilkenny College have confirmed they will remain closed on Tuesday, January 7 due to the continuing poor weather conditions.
Across the county, the freezing weather is causing treacherous conditions for drivers and commuters, with a Met Eireann Status Yellow Weather Warning for 'ice and lying snow' in place until Friday.

"Despite the best efforts of our Maintenance team today, the school campus is currently unsafe for the return of students and staff," a Kilkenny College spokesperson said.
"Therefore, the school will remain closed to all students and staff tomorrow Tuesday, January 7 and therefore there will be no return of boarders or staff this evening (Monday)," the statement added.
