Kilkenny people are being asked to lace up their walking shoes and step up to a charity challenge for Acquired Brain Injury Ireland in January.
Currently there are approximately 120,000 people in Ireland are living with a disability as the result of an acquired brain injury.
In support of these individuals, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Ireland is challenging you to Step Up and take 120,000 steps during January 2025.
"Start the year on the right foot by raising vital funds to help people living with brain injuries to rebuild their lives," a charity spokesperson said.
ABI Ireland is a charity dedicated to helping people recover from the impact of brain injury. Through expert clinical services and individualised rehabilitation plans, the organisation supports brain injury survivors in achieving their goals and leading independent lives.
It offers a range of services tailored to the needs of each person, including information, training, and practical assistance for those living with an acquired brain injury, as well as their families and healthcare professionals.
Brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. It could be your mother. It could be your brother. It could even be you. Every survivor deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life and ABI Ireland is committed to making this belief a reality.
Now, ABI Ireland needs your help to raise vital funds for these services. By signing up for the Step Up for Brain Injury challenge this month, you can make a real difference. Not only will you help fund critical services, but you'll also take part in a fun, flexible challenge.
Walk 120,000 steps throughout January – you can do it anywhere, on your own, with friends, family, or colleagues.
Every step you take will directly impact the lives of brain injury survivors, giving them the tools, they need to live their life to its full potential.
Join in this January and raise funds to support brain injury survivors to rebuild their lives. #StepUpForBrainInjury
