Kilkenny Oscar Traynor manager Gary Maher
Kilkenny Oscar Traynor manager, Gary Maher has admitted their defeat to Carlow in the group stages of the competition was a 'motivator' in their 0-3 semi-final win over their near neighbours on Wednesday evening away from home.
"It definitely was a motivator, we knew where we were and there would have been a lot of talk that Carlow camp would have been very confident going into the match the other night which is something we would have been aware of," Maher told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast.
"But we were quite confident and we went about our business very well over the last couple of weeks," he added.
