Kilkenny is set to be severely impacted by Storm Éowyn later this week as Met Éireann have just issued further Status Red warnings across the country.

The forecaster has warned: "Gale to storm force southerly winds becoming westerly will bring severe, damaging and extremely destructive gusts in excess of 130km/h."

They have also cautioned that Storm Éowyn will pose a "danger to life" as well as widespread dangerous travelling conditions, unsafe working conditions, significant power outages and structural damage.

People can also expect disruptions to transport, communication networks as well as fallen trees and debris. 

The storm is expected to impact the country through the early hours of Friday morning. The Status Red warning for Kilkenny will be valid from 2am on Friday until 10am.
