Mass set to return to County Kilkenny church after lengthy wait

After more than a two month break from regular church services bar for the Christmas ceremonies, for internal painting the weekend, mass returns to St Nicholas Church in Windgap on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month beginning this Saturday at 7.15pm.

Meanwhile, in more positive news, as reported by Kilkenny Live last month, St John's Parish Priest in Kilkenny City, Fr Dan Carroll, has received a momentous honour from Pope Francis.

Fr Carroll has served in a number of local parishes including St Patrick's and Danesfort in recent years.

The Castlecomer native will now hold the title of Monsignor as well as Chaplain to His Holiness. The recognition follows years of dedicated service to the Diocese of Ossory as Vicar General.
