Kilkenny camogie star and Colaiste Mhuire Johnstown selector hails hard-working All-Ireland champions

Kilkenny school, Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown were crowned Allianz All Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior B champions as their final quarter surge saw them deny Roscommon’s Mercy College on a scoreline of 2-10 to 2-7.

The winners, who saw Kilkenny camogie players Laura Murphy and Aoife Prendergast form part of their management team, outscored their opponents by 1-4 to 0-3 in the final quarter, with Aoibhe Bourke’s 57th minute goal proving decisive. - MATCH SUMMARY HERE

"It was unbelievable, it's tough going on the line but I'm just so proud of the girls and all the work they've put in all year, it's just great for them to get that reward today," selector and Kilkenny senior camogie player, Laura Murphy told CRKC Sport's Jerry Drennan.

"The Roscommon team were so so physical, really really good hurlers as well and it was nip and tuck," Murphy stated, adding, "it was a testament to our girls to come out on top in the end."
