A Kilkenny community has honoured a local man for his 'lifelong dedication to the community'.
The 2024 Dunnamaggin Community Spirit Award was posthumously awarded to Eugene O'Donovan of Kilmoganny in a heartfelt ceremony on Sunday, February 16, celebrating his lifelong dedication to the community.
Eugene's wife, Siobhán, and their children and grandchildren accepted the award on his behalf.

Eugene was a pillar of the community, known for his unwavering commitment, determination, and years of hard work. Whether supporting local projects, organising events, or lending a helping hand, his contributions impacted Dunnamaggin Parish.
Voted for by the communities of Kells, Kilmoganny, and Dunnamaggin, this award is a testament to the deep respect and appreciation for Eugene's selfless efforts. His legacy will continue to inspire, reminding us of the power of community spirit.
