Tributes have flooded in for former St Kieran's College schoolteacher, Michael O'Dwyer, whose funeral took place over the weekend.
Members of the local community in Kilkenny as well as many former students took to RIP.ie to express their condolences and share their own fond memories of the greatly respected ex-teacher.
One person wrote; "Sincere condolences to the O Dwyer family. Mr O’Dwyer was my silence and physics teacher. He was a true gentleman and an inspiring teacher. I loved every class with him. He was so good to all students. May he rest in peace."
"My sincere condolences to Michael’s family. I was fortunate to be in his Leaving Cert physics class in St Kieran’s from ‘87 to ‘89. I remember him as an excellent teacher and a kind and decent man. May he rest in peace," another person added.
Meanwhile, another past-pupil wrote; "Very sad to hear of the passing of Michael. He was a great teacher in Kieran’s College and I had the pleasure of being one of his students. May Michael rest in peace."
