Kilkenny's CMD Dance School
Kilkenny's CMD Dance School has qualified to represent Ireland at the 2025 Dance World Cup this July and has set up a Go Fund Me to help fund costs.
The 27 dance students in Callan were selected to be a part of Team Ireland 2025 at the finals held in Spain in July this year which is "an incredible opportunity for our dancers to share their love of dance, and hard work with an international audience."
Dance World Cup, is described as the "Olympics of dance" with well known judges and competitions held in the genres of Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Song and Dance, Street/Hip Hop.
CMD Dance School said that the cost of going to the Dance World Cup is significant.
"All parents have fully covered all their own travel and accommodation costs for themselves and their child/children.
However there are many other costs included that we are fundraising for. All money raised will be going towards costumes (€1900) dancers entry fees (€2812), and dancers Team Ireland uniforms (€2700 minimum)," CMD dance school said.
€1,740 has been raised so far for the dance club, with still a long way to go to make their goal of €7,500.

"While we are working hard on fundraising through bag-packing, and community events etc, additional support will make a huge difference.
Every donation, big or small, will help make this dream a reality. Your support means the world to these dancers and their families, and we are so grateful for every contribution.
Thank you for believing in us, supporting young Irish talent, and helping us dance our hearts out for Ireland!" the Kilkenny dance school added.
