'To the driver we'll catch up soon'- Kilkenny Gardaí
Comments have poured on Facebook following a post shared by Kilkenny gardaí of a driver texting on his phone while driving.
The photo was taken by paramedics who then sent the picture to gardaí in Kilkenny.
"The driver of this Nissan SUV on the M9 recently was snapped by a Paramedic (passenger seat). One of our lads, off duty, met the crew today who passed on the video. Like us, Ambulance crews deal with tragedies from distracted driving every day. We've got a reg plate in the video received so enquiries shouldn't be too challenging...," Kilkenny gardaí said in the post linked below.
"To the driver, we'll catch up soon," they added.
One Facebook user commented, "This makes my blood boil. My beautiful daughter died in less than a second, due to this dangerous behaviour. We have got to hold ourselves accountable for own driving decisions."
"Met a driver in a green Range Rover today negotiating the roundabout at Pollerton, reading his phone in his right hand. Mind boggles," another person said.

"I think it’s getting worse. I see more people on their phones while I’m driving through Carlow in the mornings than ever before and women applying make up seems to be very common as well," another person said.
