Irish dancing sensation Zahra Khodabacksh has been honoured with a Mayoral Award for her huge recent success on the world stage and for representing Kilkenny with pride.
Mayor of Kilkenny, Cllr Andrew McGuinness, stated that he 'was delighted to present a Mayors Award to incredible young Irish dancing champion Zahra Khodabacksh to acknowledge her fantastic achievement winning the World Irish Dancing Championshiops in Killarney last year'.
"Zahra was also a fantastic addition to our St Patrick's Festival also and continues to progress her career in Irish dancing," he added.

Zahra Khodabacksh became a World Champion last year at the World Irish Dancing Championships in Killarney, putting in an incredible display that was lauded by the judges.
In the previous year, she took home a world globe placing in the event, finishing third overall in the championship and two world medals - one a gold.
