Kilkenny's John Donnelly
Kilkenny captain, John Donnelly has hailed the importance of the Cats' 0-29 to 0-20 win over Limerick in their final Allianz Hurling League match, suggesting it's a welcome boost ahead of their Leinster Championship opener against Galway on the Easter Bank-Holiday weekend.
A commanding first half and closing ten minutes was key to the home win with a Limerick storm at the start of the second half not blowing Kilkenny off course on their road to victory.

"It shouldn't really take anything to get going with Kilkenny in Nowlan Park. Training wasn't any different this week, we just had to recover from 'Tipp," Donnelly commented after the match.
"When you're playing with Kilkenny, every day is important and we're glad to get the win going into championship," he added.
Ahead of the new championship season, the Thomastown All-Star nominee has been honoured with leading the team for the year with fellow panelist and clubmate Peter McDonald also confirmed as the vice-captain with the duo taking over from Paddy Deegan and Huw Lawlor.
