Incredible opportunity for artists in Kilkenny, but applicants must hurry!

The Watergate Theatre, Kilkenny City

An incredible opportunity has arisen for artists in Kilkenny in the form of the The Watergate Gateways Bursary.

The Watergate Gateways Bursary is open to artists living in, or from Kilkenny City or county.

The bursary will support a total of five artists and applications are welcomed from artists across all artistic disciplines.

Who can apply?

- Artists resident in or from Kilkenny City and county.

- Artists with an interest in developing work with the Watergate

Successful applicants will receive:

- Cash funding up to €3000
- Up to €3000 worth of support in kind as follows: Development time in the theatre; one day/night in the theatre for a performance, work in progress showing or reading; rehearsal and work space; mentorship from Watergate production, marketing and tech team; technical support for performance or showing of work in progress and partnership with The Watergate marketing department sharing of stories
and insights about work as it develops.

How to apply:

Please email the following to info@watergatetheatre.com before 5pm on Friday, April 4:
- Copy of your CV
- A letter of interest including the idea/work you hope to use the Watergate
Gateways Bursary for.
- Examples of previous work.

A spokesperson for The Watergate Theatre explained that the bursary 'aims to support Kilkenny-based artists and invest in new work as well as expanding our community of artists'.

"At Watergate, we believe in the collective power of artists and the arts sector to strengthen communities. We aim to
connect with artists in the early stages of their careers and/or with established artists with the seed of a new idea.

"We see this as an investment in our community and an important connection to the development of new work
across all artistic disciplines.”
