Kilkenny fire sparks 'criminal investigation' as 'significant damage' caused

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious fire in County Kilkenny over the weekend.

It’s understood the fire - at Hollymount, Carriganurra, Slieverue - is being treated as arson and that a criminal investigation has been launched.

A garda spokesperson stated: “Gardaí are investigating a significant incident of criminal damage by fire which occurred at Hollymount, Carriganurra, Slieverue at 2.05am on the morning of Saturday, April 5, 2025.”

While no injuries were sustained in the fire, gardaí say significant damage was caused.
