Kilkenny County Council to install new pedestrian and traffic facilities

Kilkenny County Council has given notice of its intention to carry out a number of improvement works in Piltown Village which are hoped will improve pedestrian facilities and reduce excessive vehicle speed in the area.

Amongst the proposed works are installation of new footpaths to complete pedestrian links on Main StrEet from the Campus Service Station to the junction with Tybroughney Road and raised pedestrian crossings on Main Street at Belline Way, Banagher Place and the Credit Union.

Elsewhere, traffic calming ramps on the approaches to the village and the provision of drainage are also being put forward by the local authority. 

Submissions can be emailed to activetravel@kilkennycoco.ie and should be clearly marked 'Piltown Scheme'.

Submissions will be accepted until 4pm on Wednesday, April 30.
