Television presenter Baz Ashmawy has made an urgent appeal to the people of Kilkenny for help with an upcoming DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland project in Mooncoin, South Kilkenny.
The team is desperately seeking a skilled joiner to create bespoke furniture and fittings for a special build taking place from Tuesday, April 29 to Thursday, May 8.
The project will help provide nine-year-old Aoibhínn O’Hanlon, her two siblings, and her parents Sharon and John with their first family home. The new build is designed to allow Aoibhínn to live independently alongside her family.

Aoibhínn was born with a severe form of spina bifida and hydrocephalus—conditions that bring significant challenges for her and her loved ones around the clock, seven days a week.
The callout is specifically aimed at joiners and furniture makers, but the team also encourages anyone who knows someone suitable to tag them or pass on the message.
Those able to help are asked to contact the DIY SOS team urgently at diysoskilkenny@gmail.com or by phone at 083 126 3130.
