Kilkenny County Council have confirmed a number of proposed plans from the Department of Integration to house international protection applicants locally will not take place.

Heather Court Hotel in Ballyragget, St Catherine’s Nursing Home in Freshford and the St Patrick's Centre site on the outskirts of the city, are all no longer being considered as viable locations.

Applications were received by the Department but a decision was made not to proceed.
