Kilkenny Live understands that works being carried out at a new Water Treatment Plant in Gowran are making significant progress.
The investment in the Gowran Regional Water Supply Scheme, which is worth over €12 million, will enhance the quality and security of the water supply to the people of Gowran, Goresbridge, and Paulstown.

"I am delighted to hear from Uisce Éireann about the continued progress of the Water Treatment Plant in Gowran," Fianna Fáil TD for Carlow-Kilkenny, Peter 'Chap' Cleere said.
"This is welcome news to the people of Gowran and the wider communities of Paulstown and Goresbridge. We must ensure throughout our country that our water quality and infrastructure are of high quality," he added.
Deputy Cleere believes this huge investment will have a great impact on the local economy, with it supporting local projects such as housing.
"The investment of the new Water Treatment Plant will grow our local economy by aiding home building, supporting local projects, environmental protection, and the provision of high-quality water.
"I am delighted to hear the work is in full flow, and that this very important Water Treatment Plant will be completed by the end of the year," he concluded.
