A planning application has been lodged to Kilkenny County Council

A planning application has been lodged with Kilkenny County Council by Evergreen FC, outlining proposals for a development at its grounds on the Kells Road, Dundaryark, County Kilkenny.

The application, received on April 28, 2025, seeks permission to construct a new spectator stand.

According to the submission, the stand would be positioned adjacent to the southern boundary of the site and would serve the existing artificial turf pitch currently in use at the facility.

BACKGROUND

Evergreen FC was founded in 1946 as an amateur soccer club run on a voluntary basis to serve the Kilkenny City community.

In 2000, the club purchased 4.2 Hectares (10.3 acres) of land at Dundaryark on the Kells Road, approximately 5km from the existing city ring road.

The lands have since been used to construct two grass soccer pitches and two floodlit artificial turf pitches with dressing rooms in the form of temporary containers, a temporary equipment storage shed and car park.
