Rás na mBan returns to Kilkenny
Entries for the 2025 edition of Rás na mBan are now open, with teams and support staff preparing for the 19th running of Ireland’s international stage race.
For the ninth consecutive year, the event will be based in Kilkenny, with racing scheduled over five days starting Wednesday, September 3.
There was plenty for Kilkenny cycling fans to cheer about last year as Glenmore native Mia Griffin rode to overall victory in Rás na mBan, becoming the first Irish winner of the race in 11 years.

Organisers report that interest from teams, both domestic and international, is already strong, with several confirming their participation for the September event.
“It’s great to have so many teams, many new and a great number who have been to the race in the past, show interest in taking on the event,” said Deputy Race Director Ronan Fox.
“We have an exciting new stage for the riders to tackle and it’s been great to discuss race plans with teams and riders from all over the world in the past few months.”
The entry process remains similar to previous years, with teams registering via the Cycling Ireland Eventmaster portal.
Team managers can enter their squad names and add up to five riders, either at registration or at a later date. It's important that all riders are entered under the same team name to avoid duplication.
The deadline for team entries is August 13, while rider names can be edited until the final confirmation date on September 2.
All riders not part of a UCI-registered team must pre-register with Cycling Ireland and provide a copy of their active licence and a letter of permission to race in Ireland from their national federation.

Upon approval, Cycling Ireland will issue a unique registration number to be used during the entry process.
Teams can register and pay for between one and five riders at a time, with additional riders added in subsequent entries. There is no fee to register team managers.
The race is open only to teams affiliated with UCI-recognised national associations, including club teams, national and regional squads, and composite teams.

Route details, rules, and further event updates will be released in the coming weeks.
