WATCH: Soldiers from James Stephens Barracks in Kilkenny celebrate 'proud' moment'

Recently recruits from the Third Infantry Battalion at James Stephens Barracks in Kilkenny completed their march-back to the barracks and had their 'passing out' on the square.

"This marks the transition from recruit to two star private and is a proud time in every soldiers' career," the barracks posted to social media.

"There was awards given for; best soldier, best shot and esprit de corps. They have now begun their two to three star training to become fully qualified soldiers. Congratulations and best of luck to all," the post added.
