Messages of congratulations have been pouring in from across the country after Kilkenny hurling legend TJ Reid and his wife, Limerick woman Niamh de Brún-Reid, announced they are expecting their second child.

The couple shared the happy news in a novel and heartwarming way. Barefoot and beaming, they stood before a white wall before painting the words: Baby Due 2025." Watching on was their daughter Harper, who will celebrate her third birthday in November.

"Pre-season is well and truly underway for Harper in her new role as big sister! We feel so grateful to be growing our family #BabyReid," wrote Niamh, a lifestyle and content creator originally from the Ennis Road, Limerick, on Instagram.

The announcement quickly captured the attention of friends, followers, and fans alike. More than 500 congratulatory messages flooded in throughout the evening, as people from the sporting world and social media community alike rushed to share their joy.

TJ and Niamh were married in the picturesque village of Adare in 2021.
