Ex-Kilkenny player with 'vast experience' joins Derek Lyng backroom team

Graigue Ballycallan have wished club player Eddie Brennan 'the very best' as he takes up a new role as a Kilkenny selector for the 2026 season.

The eight-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny (2000-2011) is considered one of the county's greatest forwards and joins a management team of Michael Rice, Peter O'Donovan and Niall Corcoran under the stewardship of Derek Lyng.

Lyng was ratified as the Kilkenny senior hurling manager on a two-year term following a meeting of the Kilkenny County Board on Monday evening.

"Everyone at Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club would like to wish Eddie the very best in his new role with the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Team for the upcoming season.," the club said in a statement.

"With his vast experience, knowledge & dedication, we know he will bring a new dimension to the team & we are so proud & excited to see what he will do.

"We wish Derek, Michael, Peter, Eddie & Niall & the Kilkenny Panel the best of luck for the season," they concluded.
