Fianna Fáil TD for Carlow-Kilkenny, Peter Chap Cleere TD has urged motorists and road users to take extra care on country roads as hedge-cutting season officially begins.
"Hedge cutting is an essential part of managing our rural landscape, but it also brings added risks for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians," Cleere said.
"Large machinery will be more visible on our roads over the coming weeks. I'm appealing to everyone to slow down, stay alert, and drive with care.

"With schools now back, there are more children, school buses, and parents on the roads.
"This increase in traffic makes it even more important for drivers to be mindful of the extra risks that come with hedge-cutting season," he added.
