Sports performance and data analyst, Ray Boyne has confirmed his departure from the Kilkenny senior hurling backroom team after one season.
Boyne spent over a decade involved with Dublin GAA as part of their analysis team for the senior footballers as well as assisting Pat Gilroy with the senior hurlers in 2018 before joining the Kilkenny fold earlier this year.
"Didn’t make the cut for 2026, but a massive thank you to Derek, the management team, the coaches, all the medical, physio, nutrition, psychology and backroom staff, county board officials, and most of all the greatest group of players," Boyne posted to social media.

"2025 with Kilkenny was a very special year, in a very special county. When you volunteer your reward is the connections, the learnings, the growth — and I got multiples of all three. Kilkenny gave me more than I could ever give back.
"Grateful for the journey — and wishing everyone the very best for 2026," he concluded.
