Commuters from Kilkenny and Waterford to be impacted by major roadworks

Ferrybank's Dock Road (serving a large number of motorists from Kilkenny and Waterford) will see a stop-go system in place for almost two weeks from today to facilitate road resurfacing works.

From today, Monday, October 6, until Friday October 10, and then from Monday, October 13, until Wednesday, October 15.

They will be night time works, commencing at 8pm daily and finishing at 6am the following morning. 

This is in an attempt to cause the least amount of disruption to traffic, residents, and businesses in the area.

It will also prioritise the safety of all road users and working personnel on-site.

Rockshire Road at the junction with Dock Road will be closed and a diversion through the Newrath Road will be in place.

Emergency and local access will be maintained for the duration of the works.

Waterford City and County Council and BAM have apologised for the inconveniences that will be caused.

Both seek the understanding and co-operation of the public during the course of these works.

Ferrybank has a multitude of works happening at the moment with the new train station nearing completion. 

It is expected to open in Spring of 2026.
