Gardaí have taken to social media to share details of a recent encounter with a motorist in North Kilkenny, with a very Star Wars twist.
"One of our lads was out using laser technology in Johnstown this morning," a garda spokesperson said.

"Unlike a Jedi with a light sabre, our member was using the laser speed gun to detect a driver doing 80kmh in a 50, hardly light speed you might say, but adding the fact that the driver was uninsured means a date with the courts.
"Using a tow wagon instead of a tractor beam allowed the unauthorised vessel be brought into our custody."
