Kilkenny drivers urged to be 'extra vigilant' with deers on the road

Gardaí are urging local drivers to be extra vigilant on the roads during deer rutting season this October.

Deer are more active and unpredictable at this time of year, particularly at dawn and dusk and incidents with motorists coming upon deer on both county and main roads a possibility.

TD Michael Lowry, who serves part of North-West Kilkenny called on drivers 'to be extra vigilant' in the coming weeks.

Awareness and being alert are advised.
