This year's programme has just been announced!

Subtitle makes a welcome return to Kilkenny next month

The Angela Awards will be hosted by Pauline McLynn

An exciting and eclectic programme featuring the best of European cinema has been announced for Subtitle Film Festival which takes place in Kilkenny from November 23 to 29.

For one vibrant week, festival-goers are invited on a journey beyond borders and languages, discovering extraordinary films from across Europe – all united by the power of subtitled storytelling.

Whether you’re a cinephile, an industry guest, or simply a curious movie-lover Subtitle Film Festival boasts fresh premieres, bold voices and warm connections.

A highlight of Subtitle is the Angela Awards which takes place at Set Theatre in Langtons. Hosted by Pauline McLynn, the tenth annual Angela Awards acknowledges the achievements of talent from across Europe and the presentations are made by well known actors, writers and directors from the Irish film industry. It’s a substantial and significant evening, but the tone is celebratory and fun with live music provided by The Camembert Quartet.
