Members of the Kilkenny Fire Service have been called to an incident on High Street in the centre of Kilkenny City.
Kilkenny Live understands an electric box above a retail outlet caught fire at some point around 12noon this afternoon (Tuesday).
Access to High Street is currently blocked off with members of the fire brigade still on the scene.
There have been no reports of injuries so far.
