Questions raised over state of Kilkenny Railway buildings - Council Highlights

A local Fine Gael councillor has called on Kilkenny County Council to provide a detailed report to councillors on the status of the condition of the original Kilkenny Railway station buildings.

Cllr David FitzGerald noted the buildings were 'a protected structure', and has requested details of the steps taken to preserve the Victorian canopy and buildings by the current owner, Córas Iompair Éireann (CIE).

The matter is expected to be discussed at a meeting of the Kilkenny City Municipal District next week.
