Over the years, gardaí in Kilkenny have been sharing some of the most striking examples of vehicle seizures in the locality.
A seizure made over the weekend in Kilkenny City must surely give all the others a run for their money though.

Describing the vehicle as a 'work of art', due it being a [Citroen] Picasso, gardaí stated that, "It's not often that our RPU get to say they seized a Picasso and even rarer when they say that they won't be bringing it to a gallery.
"Unfortunately for us however the work of art in our custody is not worth over €100 million. It was however being driven on a public road by a driver on the phone with no insurance, no NCT, no tax, learner unaccompanied and bald tyres.

"Probably the best outcome for this vehicle is to move from modernist to cubist, i.e. cubed in a crusher. A day in court awaits, unfortunately not much room for painting on summonses."
