Shamrocks manager Henry Shefflin hopes the disappointment of Saturday's AIB Leinster Final loss to St Martin's (Wexford) can act as a motivator for the seasons to come. - FULL INTERVIEW BELOW:

"Every club starts off every year to win the county championship so of course it is (a consolation). We said that to the lads inside, they have to take great pride in winning that," Shefflin commented after the match.
"But look, tonight (Saturday) was about winning a Leinster Final and that's the hurtful part. We remarked on that as well, you can take the pride in your performances during the year but you have to take bring hurt of how that dressing room felt after a one point loss in a Leinster Final and that's what you hope drive on players in the coming seasons," the Shamrocks manager outlined.

The Shamrocks went into Saturday's contest without the services of Adrian Mullen due to injury while brother Paddy returned after missing their semi-final win over Clough Ballacolla after a knock. However, that was no excuse according to the ex-Kilkenny player.
"The strength and depth of our panel was always going to be tested and when you're short a top inter-county player it's always going to stretch it (a panel) but there's absolutely no excuse tonight."
