Local Fianna Fáil TD, Peter 'Chap' Cleere has voiced his support for the horse and greyhound sectors, slamming TDs critical of the two industries who he claimed 'do not have a 'bull’s notion' and were talking 'horse manure'.
Deputy Cleere was speaking in the Dáil during a motion on Horse and Greyhound Racing Fund Regulations.
"The horse and greyhound industries should be recognised for the considerable contribution they make to rural economic activity and employment," he said.

"We have to invest in the greyhound and horse racing industries," he said, hailing the work of Gowran Park and the Kilkenny Greyhound Stadium.
"I will not sit here and listen to lectures from people who do not have a clue about rural Ireland."
