Proposal to convert former Kilkenny travel agents building into new restaurant

Planning permission will soon be sought from Kilkenny County Council for works at 78 and 78A John Street Lower, Kilkenny.

The application will seek permission for a change of use at ground floor level from a shop, previously used as a travel agents, to restaurant use.

The plans also include material alterations and the construction of a single-storey extension to the rear of the property at ground floor level.

In addition, permission will be sought for material alterations to the existing residential accommodation at first and second floor levels to create a one-bedroom apartment, along with all associated site development works.

The properties are located at 78 John Street Lower, Kilkenny (R95 FF84) and 78A John Street Lower, Kilkenny (R95 Y043).

The proposed development involves works to a protected structure and is situated within the John Street Architectural Conservation Area.
