Gardaí from Kilkenny Roads Policing Unit encountered the driver of a white Audi yesterday (Tuesday) evening in Urlingford and went to stop it due to an ANPR activation.
"The driver initially stopped their vehicle but took off as gardaí approached before driving off at great speed towards Thurles," a garda spokesperson said.

"Sometimes continuing to follow a car endangering other road users is fraught with risk and so our crew stood down.
"A trawl of CCTV followed and ultimately the suspect was located in North Tipperary.
"Full admissions were made and the driver will face at least 10 different summons for multiple counts of dangerous driving.
"The moral of the story, if you're caught, you're caught, don't make it worse."
