On the back of Laois defeating Carlow last night, Kilkenny will face the the Midlanders in the Walsh Cup Shield Semi-Final in Rathdowney on Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
After Derek Lyng's side had their first fixture against Westmeath fall foul of the weather, it will be the first opportunity for supporters to see the Cats in action in 2026.
In contrast, it will be Laois's third game in a week after they also lost out to Wexford last weekend in the cup section of the pre-season competition.
The other shield semi-finals sees Kildare take on Antrim with the final scheduled to take place next weekend.
